The Spanish league continued over the weekend in its 9th playing day with business as usual. While FC Barcelona of Alex Song was teaching a bitter football lesson to Rayo Vallecano in their 5-0 defeat, Lionel Messi (2 goals), David Villa, Xavi and Cesc Fabregas respectively contributed into the demise of Mr. Paco's squad. Málaga CF of Idriss Carlos Kameni (reserve) and Fabrice Olinga (reserve) played a 0-0 game with RCD Espanyol.
In England, the English Premier league entered the 9th day of play with Aston Villa separating on a 1-1 tie with Norwich City of Sebastien Basong. Also, Arsenal defeated Queens Park Rangers (QPR) by a score of 1-0. Stephane Mbia of QPR earned a red card from poor sportsmanship (he was fouled by Vermaelen, he lashed out while on the ground and kicked Vermalaen). Tottenham of Benoit Assou Ekotto (still undergoing treatment) defeated Southampton by a score of 2-1.
The French League 1 entered the 10th day of play with Rennes of Jean Makoun and Jean Armelle Kana-Biyik losing 0-2 to Saint-Etienne. Lille of Aurelien Chedjou defeated Valenciennes of Gaetang Bong (scored an own goal at the 2nd minute) and Aboubakar Vincent (entered as a substitute at the 87th minute) by a score of 2-1. AS Nancy of Guy Ndy Assembé and Paul Alo'o Efoulou lost 0-1 to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) with the curtain raiser from PSG orchestrated by Ibrahimovic at the 74th minute. Montpellier of Henri Bedimo defeated Nice 3-1, with Bedimo putting up an excellent performance at the left-back. Girondins Bordeaux of Landry Nguemo (average performance) lost 1-3 to Bastia.
In the German Division one league (Bundeliga), Schalke 04 (with a masterful Joël Matip) defeated FC Nürnberg by 1-0. Meanwhile, the German Division II league which entered its 11th playing day last Friday saw Mohamadou Idrissou of Kaiserslautern significantly contributing to their 3-3 tie against FC Köln. Idrissou continuously imposed his veteran skills in the game through one decisive pass and the 2 goals he scored to salvage his team from FC Köln's defeat. It should also be noted that he is currently the highest goal scorer (7 goals to his credit) with four decisive passes in the German Division II league.
The North American league (Major League Soccer) entered its last playing day of the season last Sunday October 28, 2012 with Impact Montreal of Timothee Atouba (reserve) suffering a 0-1 defeat from New England Revolution
